Wastewater Process Lead

Are you a wastewater process technical expert with a passion for identifying and mitigating risks at wastewater treatment works? Do you have experience in assessing treatment work capacity and aspire to contribute to developing strategic investment plans? If so, we invite you to join our Wastewater Asset Strategy & Planning team. In this varied technical role, you will assess current and future compliance risks at wastewater treatment works. Your work will be pivotal in shaping investment plans to address capacity shortfalls as part of our Growth programme of investment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct analyses and modelling of wastewater treatment work performance and capacity. Address internal and external stakeholder queries regarding treatment work performance and capacity. Provide expert wastewater process support to the Wastewater Asset Strategy & Planning teams, enabling informed investment decisions. Maintain a strategic perspective on wastewater process technologies and stay updated on industry legislation, technological advancements, and developments. Collect and analyse treatment works data for regulatory annual reporting. About You: We are looking for a self-motivated and technically skilled individual with expertise in wastewater treatment processes, supported by a strong background in process science or engineering. You will ideally demonstrate: Significant experience in wastewater process science or engineering. Experience in asset management, investment planning, or the water and wastewater infrastructure industries. Familiarity with other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, and ICA) is advantageous. Proficiency in modelling techniques and their technical applications. Ability to assess diverse information sources, navigate uncertainty, and recommend optimal courses of action. A high level of initiative and self-motivation. We are recruiting three Principal Civil Engineers to join our Water company client and make a significant impact in the following areas: Water (Non-Infrastructure) Wastewater (Non-Infrastructure) Wastewater (Infrastructure) Principal Civil Engineer As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will lead innovative projects, providing technical guidance and ensuring safety, sustainability, and quality standards. Collaborating with design teams, stakeholders, and project leads, you will deliver solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Lead the technical design of major capital projects in your field. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards. Manage project budgets and timelines, delivering value for money. Drive innovation and continuous improvement, including digital design integration. Engage with customers to align designs with their needs and regulations. Represent the company at industry events and contribute to technical publications. Skills & Experience: Chartered Engineer with relevant engineering qualifications. Experience delivering water/wastewater projects in the UK Water Industry. Proficiency in MS Office and relevant design tools. Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Full UK driving licence.
